GROEBNER has always believed that serving the natural gas industry means more than supplying products.
Products matter, of course. So do availability, reliability, technical knowledge, and responsive service. Our customers count on those things every day. Strong industry partnerships depend on something deeper, too. They grow from trust, shared experience, and a real understanding of the people and communities our industry serves.
That commitment is one reason we are proud of GROEBNER’s long-standing involvement in the GILD of Ancient Supplers.
The GILD is an organization made up of suppliers to the natural gas industry throughout the United States and Canada. Established in 1937, it brings together people who have dedicated their careers to serving and supporting the natural gas industry. Its name also reflects a message many of us in the industry know well. Natural gas is Green, Independent, Low-cost, and Dependable.
Membership in the GILD is not something someone simply signs up for. A person must have at least 10 years of experience in the industry before they can be nominated, and membership is voted on by industry professionals who are already part of the organization. Since nominations come from GILD members outside of a person’s own company, the recognition reflects trust earned across the broader industry. That peer-recognized piece matters. It says something when people who know the industry, understand the work, and have seen you show up over time are willing to put their trust behind your name.
That peer recognition is what makes GROEBNER’s involvement in the GILD so meaningful to us.
It started more than four decades ago with our founder, Chuck Groebner, who became part of the GILD in 1983. Joe Groebner, second-generation president of GROEBNER, followed in 1999. That connection has carried forward through GROEBNER team members who built long careers in the natural gas industry, including several who retired with long-standing ties to the organization. Today, it continues through four current GROEBNER team members active in the GILD, including Steve D’Amato, Matthew Dvorak, Sam Griese, and Ryan Meyer.
Their involvement reflects more than individual recognition. It reflects the way GROEBNER has continued to stay connected, engaged, and invested in the natural gas community across generations.
Because the GILD is made up of suppliers to the natural gas industry, GROEBNER’s involvement gives us a meaningful way to stay connected with the peers and partners who help support utilities, municipalities, contractors, and the communities they serve. For our customers, that involvement is another sign of the trust GROEBNER has earned within the industry and the relationships we continue to build. When you work with GROEBNER, you are choosing more than a supplier. You are choosing a team that understands the work, values the relationships behind it, and cares about where natural gas is headed.
GROEBNER’s GILD involvement also reaches beyond membership. Matthew Dvorak, who joined the GILD in 2019, was asked to serve as a Warden in 2025. In that role, he helps support and lead meetings in his area, encouraging participation and helping members stay informed.
Matt also joined a GILD Natural Gas Advocacy Committee in 2021, during a time when the natural gas industry was facing growing public pressure and misinformation. The committee was created to help promote the good of natural gas and share fact-based information with the broader community.
“There is a lot of noise out there around energy, and natural gas is often part of that conversation,” said Matthew Dvorak, GROEBNER Vice President of Sales. “For us, the committee was about helping the industry cut through that noise with facts and communicate the value natural gas continues to provide.”
That kind of involvement reflects a larger belief GROEBNER has carried since our founding. Supporting the natural gas industry means looking beyond our own day-to-day business. It means paying attention to the challenges, priorities, and organizations that impact our customers and the communities they serve.
The GILD is one part of that larger industry involvement. GROEBNER is also active in well over 20 local, state, and regional associations focused on the natural gas industry. These memberships help us better understand the changing needs of utilities, contractors, and municipalities, while keeping us involved in the issues and opportunities impacting the natural gas industry.
Natural gas continues to play an important role in homes, businesses, and communities across the country. Supporting that work takes dependable infrastructure, experienced partners, and people willing to advocate for the value natural gas provides.
GROEBNER is proud to be one of those partners. Our involvement in the GILD of Ancient Supplers is not just a badge of recognition. It reflects the trust GROEBNER has earned over time, the relationships we continue to build, and the responsibility we feel to support the natural gas industry well.
When you work with GROEBNER, you get more than products. You get experience, relationships, and a team committed to this industry, recognized by its peers, and ready to help you move forward with confidence.
