Solar at GROEBNER: A Balanced Energy Approach

In 2019, GROEBNER partnered with Xcel Energy and IPS Solar to install a 40-kilowatt solar panel system at our corporate headquarters in Rogers, Minnesota. The system includes 155 solar panels and three inverters, converting energy from DC to AC power directly at our facility. 202003solarproject2

Today, that system continues to support how we approach energy use and long-term efficiency.

Our solar array generates about 44,860 kWh annually, or roughly 45 megawatt hours, providing close to 50% of our building’s energy usage. On-site solar generation helps improve energy efficiency while giving us more visibility and control over how energy is used within our facility.

Earth Month is a natural time to step back and look at how energy systems are evolving. A more sustainable energy future will not rely on a single solution. It will require a mix of technologies working together to support reliability, affordability, and emissions reduction.

Solar energy is one part of that mix.202003solarproject1a

GROEBNER continues to focus exclusively on the natural gas industry. Natural gas plays a critical role in meeting energy demand today while contributing to lower emissions compared to other traditional fuels. At the same time, renewable natural gas, hydrogen blending, and renewable power are expanding how energy is produced, delivered, and used.

Our solar installation reflects that broader, balanced perspective.

Sustainable progress comes from understanding how energy solutions work together, not from choosing one over another. Practical decisions, supported by the right infrastructure and partnerships, will continue to shape the future of the industry.

Working with partners like Xcel Energy and IPS Solar allows GROEBNER to stay connected to the evolving energy landscape while continuing to support customers with the products, knowledge, and partnerships they rely on.

That approach has guided GROEBNER for more than 50 years, and it continues to shape how we support the future of energy.
